Im a student at Penn Foster Career School. I know they offer interior design courses. Its online, so you can study at your own pace. But, you also have to be strong enough to be able to learn by yourself- at least i think so. Theres also instructors who you can call for help during the week. Everything can be done online (the best) or in writing, or a combo of both. And its not expensive at all.

Im in the Medical Office Assistant Degree program and I pay $39 a month.

attend a university that offers these courses. there are many aspects to the stage and different departments that take care of these areas:

Stage Design: Building the sets this takes a lot of math and construction skill.

Scenic: Before all of the set pieces go on stage they are then painted for the set

    Props: Speaks for itself.

Set Design is under all of these categories.
You would want to take Theatre Tech Courses, it depends on whatever college you are attending on whether or not they have a strong theatre department. There is UC Irvine SFS/U and LACC

hi, where i live our community college offers short courses on it, maybe you could look into the schools in your area, also a lot of big design companies offer courses for free if you are willing to come to work for them after wards. i attended a workshop years ago that was given every summer for $100. maybe there are things in your area like that. you might want to google it and see what comes up. good luck

Use contrasting colours and textured brush techniques for walls instead of flat rollers. Keeping the room tidy is very important.

Use soft lighting like a lamp with a nice lampshade.

Sometimes the entire mood can be changes with just ligthting. If the whole room were to be quite empty, I would suggest a "statement piece" like a good drawing, an unique piece of furniture or something like this to capture attention. How abt painting your mom's dinner chair green and leave it in the room to stack up your books.

You're 18, if possible enroll in a college level math & drafting for starters. Hire on at something like a cabinet shop or decorating business. Start off small. Reception, general labor or such, pay attention. Work hard, prove yourself to the company that you're a good worker and devoted. Then you may take baby steps forwards.
My sister did this. She began as a receptionist for a tile company, then graduated to sales and service, more individualized care with clients, then she began designing interior tile layout, then for larger and larger homes, businesses, hotels etc… Soon she was so successful she split off and opened her own cabinet factory and Kitchen design etc…
I'll give you her website so you can get an idea of just how successful the business area is, and she had it all by the age of 28 or so.
My sister is the ultimate success story in this area. You could try and leave her an email with your Question, but I cant guarantee she'll have time to answer. Shes very very busy. Good luck I hope you make it where u wanna go!! God Bless You

We've used people on our projects who have an online certificate. At first, you won't be paid as much as someone who has their degree in interior design, however. What you are really looking to do is build your portfolio with projects over time. In some states, the law will prohibit you from calling yourself an interior designer without a BS or BA. You will be able to use it on your resume, but will need to focus more on your portfolio.

Good luck, you will find that it is a rewarding career both personally and professionally.

to tell you honestly…. fashion designing and interior designing are totally different…. one thing is only the same…. you will need lots of imagination and creativity.

interior deco design is a lot different since you have to take note of different aspects rather than just the design itself.

to give an example…. if you'll be given a task to decorate an empty room… you'll have to take note of the following:

    1) dimensions of the room
    2) after designing the room how many will be the regular occupant of the room
    3) will the room size be able to accomodate all the designs that you'll put in there together with what the room will actually contain (e.g. appliances, furnitures, etc.)
    4) will your design comply with the room's ventilation?
    5) if the room is located on a building other than the ground floor will it be able to hold the weight of your design??

here's quick tip…. both fashion designing and interior designing is good and all i can say to you is…. GOOD LUCK!!!

go to fastweb.com and do a college search for 2 year colleges offering degrees in interior design.

you COULD go to one of those online schools, but it's just a waste of money.

A: When you work on your first decorating job.

I am currently an Interior Decorator who specializes in making fabric elements of interior design. I began my portfolio with the first jobs i created, beginning with what I made for myself and that of my family and friends to begin with. Then, with jobs I did for my clients.

It's a little bland. If you are writing a novel, there is no way your writing style could fill up 100 000 words. You need to be a bit more descriptive when appropriate. Here it's not as the subject is quite boring.

There are a lot thing that you can do to get off to the right start.
A website is a must but you need to to know how your clients will search for you on the internet first ( what keywords ). And what type of web site to get ( never flash for search engine ranking ). You can get a good website with good SEO (search engine optimization) for around $500+ depending on what your budget is and how much your budget is. Some will run that much plus $150+ for continuing SEO to dominate search engine terms.

Video is also a great way to promote your business and search engines love them. I would give a discount or something else for a video testimonial from your clients.

Twitter is also a great place to get a good fallowing and promote your business. Don't just promote your business. Make sure to have good content and talk about yourself.

Facebook and myspace are also a must.

Branding is a must! Get a logo and use local listings like google local and yahoo local.

    That is a start.

It's your home. What you like, is how you should proceed. In most home, interior doors, are typically finished the same, be it stained/varnished, or painted. Stained/varnished, can in the future, be painted over, to change the doors appearance.
Painted doors can be painted over, but it will be expensive to try to remove paint, to "stain/varnish" previously painted doors. "The decorating rule", is make your home comfortable for yourself. A good suggestion, is to review decorating magazines, look at photo's of rooms similar to rooms in your home. See how colors, stains, and furnishings blend to provide acceptable accents for your living style. My best advise, is pick your style, stick with it, because, remimber, changing can be costly.
